Zimbabwe’s longest-running festival of urban culture, Shoko Festival has announced dates for this year’s edition.
The 11th edition of the festival will run from September 20 to 25.
Running under the theme, Shoko Universe, the fiesta will be a fully virtual experience due to the global pandemic, Covid-19.
“As an answer to the times we are living in, this year we will invite the audience to dive into the completely virtual Shoko Universe.
We will take you on a riveting journey riding on our collective imaginations through gritty urban culture, explosive music, crazy sets, never-seen-before collaborations, and a celebration of the impossible.
We promise to surprise you, inspire you, and upset the setup! So come, enter the Shoko Universe, and let’s begin,” read a statement.
Last year featured performances from Shasha, Soko Matemai, Jah Master, BlacPerl, Holy Ten, Poptain, Madzitatiguru, Anita Jackson, and many more.
